Under the National Climate Change Policy (NCCP), the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives has released a detailed plan for addressing climate change-related issues and advancing sustainable development. The ministry stated in a news release on Sunday that in accordance with the policy, a National Climate Finance Strategy (NCFS) has been developed to determine sectoral priorities and scale climate finance. “This NCFS is a cornerstone in Pakistan’s commitment to the Paris Agreement, focusing on leveraging private sector engagement, international climate finance and carbon markets,” said the ministry. The NCCP was given government approval in 2021 to promote long-term economic growth while tackling climate change-related issues.
