Women involvement in economy inevitable for prosperity: President

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi stressed on Wednesday that  women should actively participate in all spheres of society and that  their lack of participation in decision-making and the economic power structures is one of the reasons  Pakistan lacks prosperity. Speaking at the 12th Convocation of International Islamic  University Islamabad, the president claimed that the country’s  investment in women’s education was squandered because these  women remained at home and did not pursue practical careers. The Saudi envoy in Islamabad Along with other diplomats and educators, the convocation was  attended by Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Malkiy, Qatari Ambassador Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman  Al-Thani, the first secretary of Thailand, IIUI Pro-Chancellor Dr. Ahmed Salem Muhammad Al-Ameri, Rector Dr. Samina Malik, President Dr. Hathal Homoud  Alotaibi, and others.
