PML-N, MQM-P to contest Feb 8 polls jointly

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) announced on Tuesday that they would be running together in  the next general elections, which are set for February 8, 2024. The event occurred after PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif met with team from the MQM-P, headed by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, and Syed  Mustafa Kamal, in the party’s Model Town secretariat in Lahore. Senior PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique subsequently declared to the media, “It had been decided that both parties will contest February polls  jointly.” “The parties have reached consensus to implement cooperative  plan aimed at rescuing the Pakistani people from their current  predicament and returning the country to state of progress.
