PML-N, MQM-P to contest Feb 8 polls jointly

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) announced on Tuesday that they would be running together in  the next general elections, which are set for February 8, 2024. The event occurred after PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif met with a team from the MQM-P, headed by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, and Syed  Mustafa Kamal, in the party’s Model Town secretariat in Lahore. Senior PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique subsequently declared to the media, “It had been decided that both parties will contest February 8 polls  jointly.” “The parties have reached a consensus to implement a cooperative  plan aimed at rescuing the Pakistani people from their current  predicament and returning the country to a state of progress.
