The Senate received sixteen private member bills.ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the Senate received up to 16 private member bills, while the House rejected a resolution to propose a bill establishing the Pakistan Future Council with 25 votes against and 16 votes in favour. Sarfraz Bugti, the acting interior minister, did not object to Senator Sania Nishtar’s proposal to present the Pakistan Future Council Bill, 2023. The majority of senators, however, referred to it as the establishment of a supra-body over already-existing organisations like the Planning and Development Commission. The motion was put to a vote by the chairman at Sania Nishtar’s request. A total of 16 senators voted in favour of it while about 25 senators opposed it.
