Senate urges Muslim Ummah to resolve Gaza conflict

The Pakistani Senate pleaded on the Muslim Ummah on Wednesday to take a proactive role in ending the current war between Gaza and Israel and to give immediate aid to the defenceless Muslims who  are being attacked by Israel. During a heated discussion of the motion, Senator Irfan Siddiqui  expressed his profound concern about the Muslim world’s collective  silence regarding the Gaza issue. He bemoaned the absence of aggressive steps taken in properly  addressing the matter and opposing Israel by powerful institutions  such as the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League. Senator Siddiqui underlined, “The silence of the Muslim world is  deafening,” highlighting the gravity of the situation in which thousands of people, including children, are victims of violence on a daily  basis without any significant involvement.
