Quetta: On Tuesday, an attack on a police station in Turbat, Balochistan, resulted in the deaths of a policeman, four workers, and two more injuries. According to Kech District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Baloch, who confirmed the news to Dawn.com, “around 20 miscreants” stormed the Naseerabad Police Station on Tuesday morning. He claimed that although constables Hassan and Essa attempted to confront the assailants, the former was killed in the gunfight. “The two policemen’s weapons were taken, and Constable Hassan was overcome.” A large police presence arrived at the location and initiated a search, DPO Baloch continued. He said that the Counter Terrorism Department had become involved in the inquiry.
