Royal system of police, patwari should be abolished: CJP

On Thursday, Pakistan’s Chief Justice, Qazi Faez Isa, stated that  while the royal system of police and “patwari” should be eliminated, institutions should be respected. At the hearing of a matter related to the 70 tola gold committee, the CJP made these statements. The Supreme court voiced its disapproval of the inadequate inquiry  into the case during the hearing. The top justice asked the jailed jeweller how much gold he had to  turn over to the committee. It was reported to the court that the plaintiff did not get 70 tolas of  gold. The chief judge pointed out that $150,000 worth of gold had not  been subject to income tax. Where does this money originate from? What is its standing in law?
