Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Tuesday lambasted Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan over ‘awarding National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to his sister Aleema Khan’.
She was addressing media personnel outside National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) court in Islamabad today.
“Those who hurled accusations of graft on foes are themselves facing corruption allegations today”, taunted Aurangzeb.
Keeping verbal onslaught up, the vocal spokesperson went on to say that the premier who hurled jeers of NRO at opposition has awarded the same to his sister.
“Who will seek explanation over this”, inquired the former information minister.
The PML-N leader further asked, “Why did Aleema not declare the money?”
Extending jibe at Imran Khan, Aurangzeb added that thief was sitting in [Imran Khan’s] home.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has also demanded that a joint investigation team should also be constituted to investigate how Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan had made property in Dubai.
“There should be one law for everyone, and if the JIT could be formed to investigate Faryal Talpur then why the same could not be formed to investigate Aleema because if everyone is equal before the law in the country then why the law was different for Aleema ,” said Secretary Information PPP Parliamentarians Dr Nafisa Shah in a statement on Saturday.
Dr Nafisa Shah said Prime Minister Imran had made claims that he will not grant NRO to anyone but he should tell the nation why an NRO was given to his sister.
“If there’s a law in the country then why Aleema Khan was not questioned how she owned the property in Dubai and what was the money trail for purchasing the property abroad and how the money was transferred?” she questioned.
