ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah stated in an interview that the assembly would be dissolved on the evening of August 9. Rana Sanaullah, a veteran of the ruling PML-N, emphatically declared that the elections would not be postponed for any particular reason or as part of a plot. The interior minister stated that “notifying new census will create more contentious issues” in response to the call for conducting elections over the new population count. In response to a query, a PML-N stalwart said that his party had not recommended Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for the position of interim prime minister. “Ishaq Dar, Senator Raza Rabbani, or any other politician from a political party can be named for the post of the caretaker PM,” he continued.
“Nawaz Sharif will return back home one-and-half month before the election,” Sanaullah said.
“We want the chairman PTI to be disqualified from a court of law and be sentenced to jail,” replying a question about the future of the PTI leader he stated.
