Pakistan, Ukraine vow to enhance ties in diverse fields

Islamabad: In variety of areas, including trade, business, defence, education, and culture, Pakistan and Ukraine have promised to strengthen their bilateral ties. In meeting with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today in Islamabad, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba expressed his resolve. They recalled the cordial ties that had existed between the two nations ever since the independence of Ukraine. They pledged to intensify their collaboration on local and international issues of shared concern, such as the security situation in South Asia and Eurasia.

They stressed on negotiated and diplomatic settlement of conflict in Ukraine in line with the UN Charter.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that the conflict in Ukraine has a significant global impact and has adversely affected the economies of many countries.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister briefed Shahbaz Sharif about the current situation in Ukraine.

He underscored that Pakistan and Ukraine have always enjoyed long-standing and cordial relations grounded in cooperation and friendship with the common objective to contribute towards global peace and regional stability.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday strongly condemned a blast in Bara Bazar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s district Khyber.

He expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of a policeman in the blast incident. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.

The prime minister directed the relevant authorities to provide the best medical facilities to the injured.

He said the police personnel halted the suspects by risking their lives and foiled the nefarious intentions of the terrorists.

“The personnel of the law enforcing agencies (LEAs) ensure the safety of the people by risking their lives,” he added.

He said he, along with the whole nation pay tributes to the brave troops of the Police.
