Multan: MNS Agricultural University Multan, DHA Multan and Mango
Research Institute concluded the ongoing three-day mango festival.
On the third day of the mango festival, colorful programs were
organized for children, including kids mango modeling, storytelling. ,
Magic Show and Mango eating competitions were included. Along with
this, more than 200 types of mangoes were exhibited, in which
mangoes enthusiasts and families showed interest and carefully
selected mango types.
At the end of the Mango Festival, there was a dignified ceremony in
which Director Marketing DHA Multan Col. Sarfraz Nazar was the chief
guest. On this occasion, Col. Sarfraz thanked the Agriculture University
Multan, Mango Research Institute Multan Growers and all the
stakeholders. With their collective efforts, DHA Multan managed to
organize the Mango Festival for the third time, he said. The main
objective of this festival was to provide a platform to mango
stakeholders to showcase mangoes and mango products.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asif Ali (Tamgha Imtiaz) thanked the
management of DHA Multan for their cooperation to give the mango
growers, processors and exporters an opportunity to showcase their
mangoes and their products, he expressed gratitude towards the print
and electronic media also, whose efforts made the festival’s nationwide
publicity possible. Further stressing the importance of the Mango
Museum and Botanical Garden, he said that the museum would be
popular as a memorial for generations to come, which would include
the mother species and its history will be preserved.
The mango museum built at DHA Multan will become the identity of
Multan not only in Pakistan but also in the world. We get to enjoy the
mango festival as well as learn a lot. By involving the new generation in
it, they are also informed about practical education.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed among the
mango growers, those setting up industry stalls. The industry thanked
the farmers and citizens. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Irfan Ahmed Baig,
Prof. Dr. Shafqat Saeed, Prof. Dr. Mubasher Mehdi, Prof. Dr. Umar
Farooq, Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, Dr. Kashif Razak, Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz,
Dr. Salman Qadri, Dr. Usman Jamshed, Dr. Umar Ejaz, Dr. Amir
Bakhtawar and other faculty and students, mango growers and farmers
were present in large numbers.
