ISLAMABAD: On Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif instructed the district and provincial authorities in Lahore to immediately implement rainwater drainage measures. The PM Office Media Wing said in a press release that the prime minister, who was aware of the issues Lahore residents were facing, also gave the appropriate authorities instructions to be on the lookout for any potential problems brought on by the current wet spell. It was added that there should be no tolerance for public issues and complaints.
The task of continuously monitoring the situation and putting prompt measures in place was given to the authorities. The prime minister also emphasized the need for alternate routes to be quickly found in order to ensure smooth vehicular traffic.
Similarly, in other parts of the country, the prime minister also directed for adoption of safety measures during the rainy spells and called upon the provincial and district administrations to save the people from any trouble with their joint collaboration.
