ISLAMABAD: On Monday, Pakistan and the European Union (EU) reaffirmed their commitment to advancing their cooperation in a number of areas, including the GSP Plus status.
The EU Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Riina Kionka, and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari discussed this during their meeting. Along with regional and global issues, the two parties discussed bilateral ties between Pakistan and the EU and other topics of common interest. The hope of FM Bilawal was that the economic partnership, including GSP Plus, would continue to be advantageous for both Pakistan and the EU. The expanding bilateral ties between Pakistan and the European Union were acknowledged with satisfaction by both parties.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday directed Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq that the problems of Pakistanis living in the KSA should be resolved on a priority basis.
Talking to Ambassador Ahmad Farooq, who called on him here, the minister said Pakistanis living all over the world, including those in Saudi Arabia, were the country’s assets.
He said Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with the brotherly country.
The foreign minister expressed best wishes for Ahmad Farooq for his new responsibilities.
