DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A project worth Rs 1.25 trillion to link Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Balochistan via the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route has been approved, according to federal minister of communications Asad Mahmood. On Thursday, he made this statement while speaking with a group of local Jamiat Ulema Islam Fazl (JUI-F) leaders. According to the minister, this 210-kilometer road project, which would link Yarik to Saggu and then Saggu to Zhob, would be completed with the help of the governments of Pakistan and China. He disclosed that the secretary of communication was visiting China to get China’s final approval on certain matters. According to Asad, when this project is finished, travel between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan will be easier.
He said this route would pass through the areas of both provinces which remained neglected during the past, adding, it would also ensure economic prosperity in the areas.
