– Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, a former prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), has blamed party heavyweight Pervez Khattak for the PTI government’s overthrow. Mr. Ilyas, who was barred from holding any public office as a result of a contempt case, made the declaration after Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, a joint candidate of the opposition and the PTI forward bloc, succeeded Mr. Ilyas as the region’s new prime minister. The former premier asserted that Mr. Khattak’s interventions caused the AJK government to fall for the first time, which was unprecedented. He continued by saying that a pre-planned conspiracy had made the PTI government vulnerable.
Mr Ilyas said he would bring the issue in knowledge of party Chairman Imran Khan, adding that there would be differences with party fellows but “we are united under PTI’s flag”.
Taking a dig at the ruling coalition, he said those trying to establish their government in the region will also face defeat.
