Pakistan and Turkey decided to continue their bilateral cooperation in a number of areas, including trade, investment, defense, education, and culture, on Wednesday.
The ambassador of Turkiye in Islamabad, Dr. Mehmet Paçaci, visited the foreign minister (FM) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and they met to discuss the bilateral ties. The foreign minister claimed that because both nations supported one another in times of need, Pakistan and Turkey have fraternal, brotherly relations. The Turkish ambassador thanked Pakistan for providing assistance after his nation experienced an earthquake. FM also expressed gratitude to Turkiye for helping Pakistan after the disastrous floods.Both sides also resolved to continue cooperating with each other on bilateral as well as multilateral forums.
Meanwhile, Ambassador of Nepal in Islamabad Tapas Adhikari on Wednesday called on Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari here. During the meeting, they discussed historic bilateral ties and ways to enhance cooperation in multiple fields.
FM Bilawal said that both Pakistan and Nepal were among the founding members of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). The foreign minister also expressed good wishes for his Nepalese counterpart.
Meanwhile, the Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations in Pakistan Julien Harneis on Wednesday called on Foreign Minister (FM) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari here.
During the meeting, they discussed Pakistan-UN cooperation including in development and humanitarian domains.
He particularly appreciated the world body’s assistance to Pakistan following the devastating floods in the country.
The foreign minister said, “Pakistan is an active member of the United Nations and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to continue to play an active role at international forums.”
The foreign minister appreciated the United Nations (UN) for its partnership with Pakistan to advance its socioeconomic development, according to a Foreign Office press release.
