ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister Mian Javed Latif stated on Wednesday that Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was attempting to harm the democratic system of the country as his main goal was to divert the public’s attention from the correct course.
Speaking to the media, he claimed that Imran Khan had issued a protest call to stop the system, adding that the law enforcement agencies would step in to stop any violations in that regard. He issued a warning that nobody would be permitted to undermine the nation’s peace and security. In response to a query regarding negotiations with the PTI, he stated that Imran Khan was unwilling to engage in conversation with the coalition government.
He categorically stated that the country’s economic and security situation didn’t render any plausible justification to hold elections at this point in time. He said all the coalition partners including Pakistan Peoples Party had agreed unanimously to hold elections in October.
