ISLAMABAD: Elections will be held on May 14 as instructed by the Supreme Court, according to an announcement made by the electoral body on Wednesday. This announcement came amid controversy surrounding the Supreme Court decision that deemed the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) order to postpone elections in Punjab as “unconstitutional.” In an urgent meeting held today to discuss the SC verdict, the ECP made the choice. Sikandar Sultan Raja, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), presided over the meeting.
