Multan: The recent rains are continuing intermittently in Multan. As soon as the rains started on Sunday night and Monday morning, Managing Director Wasa Choudhry Muhammad Danish issued a high alert and all the officers and staff of the sewage and disposal station divisions along with their machinery was alerted. Called for drainage of rain water in their areas Meanwhile, Managing Director WASA visited different areas and disposal stations of the city and inspected the drainage arrangements Sewerage officers remained on high alert until the drainage operation was completed ordered to ensure the presence in the field, the managing director WASA directed to drain the rainwater on emergency basis from all the roads, major highways, metro route, underpass and also from the areas of free flour points. He directed to run all the disposal stations at full capacity to remove covers, lift water through skimmer machines. He also directed to run the disposal stations on generators during load shedding. According to the report, 15 mm on Old Shujaabad Road, 18 mm on Chongi No. 9 Disposal Station and 22 mm on Kari Jamandan Disposal Station were recorded. WASA ordered to ensure the presence of all officers and employees in the field along with the machinery for the drainage of rain water from the urban areas and to remain alert due to the forecast of future rain.
