Deputy Commissioner Umar Jahangir has said that on the instructions of the Punjab Government, a wheat purchase campaign has been started in the district and more than 184 thousand metric tons of wheat will be purchased by the district administration and the food department. He visited Jalalpur Pirwala yesterday while inaugurating the wheat purchase campaign. District Food Controller Abdul Majid Khan was also accompanied on this occasion. Deputy Commissioner Umar Jahangir also distributed bardana among the farmers. Deputy Commissioner Umar Jahangir said that for the district convenience of farmers, 17 wheat purchase centers have been established where wheat will be purchased from farmers at the rate of 3900 rupees per maund. Umar Jahangir directed that special arrangements should be made for the farmers coming to wheat centers and bardana should be issued to them on merit.
