Govt striving to provide relief to poor segments of society: Provincial Minister Bilal Afzal

Chichawatni: Provincial Minister for Communications, Excise and Taxation Bilal Afzal has said that the Punjab government is implementing a big project to provide free flour to the poor people in the month of Ramadan, which will cost 53 billion rupees in more than one and a half million families. Despite the limited resources, the provincial government wants the poor sections to get relief from inflation – he was inspecting the centers set up here to distribute free flour, Nawaz Sharif Park and shelter Sahiwal Club, during which he observed the distribution process.

In view of the rush of people, the process of distribution of flour at all these centers is started at 7 am which continues till the evening without a break. Provincial Minister of Communications, Excise and Taxation Bilal Afzal said. During the visit, a person who came to get flour also talked to Muhammad Ramadan and inquired about the whole process, who said that he got the flour after completing the whole process in just 15 minutes – the provincial minister told the public. Banners and pamphlets placed at the centers for guidance are also appreciated and guidance is also provided to the unregistered persons for registration that they can check their eligibility by sending an SMS to 8070 and in case of non-eligibility. Benazir Income Support Program offices are located in Sahiwal and Chichawatni to get free flour by getting registered.
