Multan: Nishtar College of Nursing (NCN) organized an awareness walk regarding World TB (Tuberculosis) Day which was led by Vice Chancellor Nishtar Medical University Professor Dr. Rana Altaf Ahmed. The aim of the walk was to raise public awareness about this infectious and deadly disease and to provide awareness about preventive measures including the importance of treatment. The walk started from Nishtar College of Nursing and ended at Nishtar Tower and was attended by Principal College of Nursing Madam Tahira Parveen and other senior nursing staff. The participants of the walk carried banners and placards with messages related to the spread of TB. The speakers said on this occasion that TB is a curable disease with its timely treatment, patients get cured. Prof. Dr. Rana Altaf Ahmed in his address termed this disease as a deadly disease and gave a message to everyone to work together for its cure. He further said that this disease can be controlled by complete screening of citizens and timely treatment. Appreciating the efforts of Madam Tahira Parveen Principal Nishtar College of Nursing and other organizers for organizing this awareness walk, she expressed her desire to organize such awareness programs on a regular basis.
