Steps afoot to bring railways, PIA at par with  Int’l standards: Khawaja Saad Rafique

Khawaja Saad Rafique, the Federal Minister for Railways and Aviation, met with Muhammad Balighur Rehman, the Governor of Punjab, today at Governor House Lahore. Khawaja Saad Rafiq, the Federal Minister for Railways and Aviation, stated that actual steps are being taken to bring PIA and the railways up to par with international standards. He claimed that all available resources are being used to improve travel options for the public through aviation, PIA, and railways. In addition to increasing the routes of the planes and improving their condition, he claimed that PIA is making numerous improvements. He claimed that efforts are being made to make improvements to the state of railroad stations as well as to  make railway travel comfortable for the public.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that the government is taking all possible steps to improve every sector, despite the difficult situation. He said that the welfare of the people and providing maximum relief to them is the main objective of the government. Governor Punjab said that providing free flour to low income families is a good initiative by the governmen. He said that making Pakistan strong and prosperous is the responsibility of all of us, for which everyone should play a positive role . Governor Punjab said that the steps taken by the federal government to provide better travel facilities to the people are commendable.

Earlier, separately, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman attended the 24th Convocation of University of Management and Technology at Expo Center Lahore as Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion,  Governor Punjab while congratulating the graduating students of UMT said that their teachers, parents, teamwork and many people around had important role in their success, so they should thank them especially their parents and teachers. While addressing the students, he said that your university has provided you with a conducive environment and a commendable education system. Governor Punjab while advising the graduates said that along with the degree, good character, clear vision, strong will, moral values and patience are also needed the most in order to succeed in life. He also emphasized that the graduating students should show tolerance and respect for every human being. Governor Punjab further said that the students should contribute to the improvement of the society with their knowledge and skills.

Addressing the convocation, Provincial Local Government Minister Ibrahim Hasan Murad said that the dedication and hard work of teachers and students  played an important role in the success of UMT.  He advised the graduates to be custodians of the values of justice and discipline and to serve society and nation by passing them on to the next generation.
