My children are my happy place, says Mandira Bedi

Mandira Bedi has successfully worn many hats over the years, including those of actor, hostess of a cricket show, contestant on a reality show, fashion designer, fitness enthusiast, and motivational speaker. Her husband, filmmaker Raj Kaushal, who had been by her side for 25 years, unexpectedly passed away in 2021 after having a heart attack. She nevertheless persisted, doing so with courage and grace, and went on to support her children by standing as a rock. She talks about parenting her two children, Vir and Tara, what motivates her, and the kinds of roles she is looking for in an  interview .

Mandira has had her hands full over the past few years with acting, social media influencer work, fitness goals, and being a hands-on mother to her two kids, Vir, 11, and Tara, 6. “I spend all of my free time with my kids. We have a great routine; I pick them up and drop them off at school every day, and we go on vacations. But my children are also homebodies, just like I am. I adore what I do. I produce a new TV show, work with brands on social media, produce workout videos, and deliver inspirational speeches at fitness events.

It’s great to inspire people, but my kids are my happy place… that is what keeps me going. And even in the middle of all this, I find the time to exercise. It is a challenge, but I’m always up for a challenge.”

Mandira has always been a private person and has rarely spoken about how she coped with the pain of losing her partner of 25 and kept going. She shares, “I have my children, and after Raj, I had to do what I had to do to give them a loving, normal and happy environment. I have had to get on with life. The way I coped with my grief and loss in the last few years is something that is extremely private to me. It is not something that I have shared or talked about with anyone. I believe that I have gone through the right channels and done it all in the best possible way, without any shortcuts. I do a lot of motivational talks and I talk about everything else, and yet, when it comes to me as a pointed question, I answer it just like the way I have answered you today.”
