Vehari: An Anti-Drug Awareness Seminar was organized by the District Administration, Police Department, Jail Department and University of Education Vehari Campus. The seminar was held at Lincoln Corner of the University of Education Vehari campus.
The seminar was presided over by Principal Professor Dr. Sheikh Israr Ahmed. District Police Officer Muhammad Essa Khan and Resource Person Superintendent District Jail Vehari Mirza Sajid Baig were the chief guests of the seminar. Assistant Commissioner Coordination Muhammad Shafiq, Deputy Director Information Mian Naeem Asim, ETO Rai Bashir Kharal, faculty members and a large number of students were also present in the seminar.
Addressing the seminar, District Police Officer Muhammad Essa Khan said that the purpose of organizing the anti-drug seminar is to raise awareness among the students. The young generation should be fully aware of the dangers of drugs. The whole family becomes a victim of problems due to a person addicted to drugs. Drugs affect the health and intellect of a person. Students are the center of hopes of future and parents. Students should adopt positive activities and focus on their bright future. We all have to work together to prevent drug addiction. Inform the students to identify the people involved in the heinous drug trade to the police. Strict legal action will be taken against those who promote drugs in educational institutions.
DPO Muhammad Essa Khan added that a person against whom a drug case is registered in any police station is not eligible for any government job. Those who have a drug case registered cannot go abroad; we have to keep a close eye on suspicious people around us. Principal University of Education Vehari Campus Professor Dr. Sheikh Israr Ahmed said on the occasion that students in educational institutions for anti-narcotics. It is very important to inform people.
