The price of gasoline and high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by the government by Rs. 5 and Rs. 13, respectively, per litre.
“Platts Singapore prices increased over the past two weeks. POL (petroleum, oil, and lubricant) products have increased in Pakistan as a result of this and the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee, according to a press release from the Finance Division. The price of gasoline and diesel, according to the statement, had gone up by Rs. 5 and Rs. 13, respectively. The press release further stated that “reduc[ing] government dues on it” had allowed the price of kerosene to remain unchanged at Rs. 2.56. The press release continued, “[The] price of light diesel oil (LDO) has been kept constant by adjusting government dues as well.
After the latest revision, the price of petrol has risen to Rs272 per litre while the price of HSD is Rs293 per litre. The cost of kerosene has jumped to Rs190.29 per litre while LDO remains Rs184.68 per litre.
The new prices will be effective from March 16 (Thursday).
