Vehari: Superintendent District Jail Vehari Sajid Ali Baig has taken charge of his post and started work. He was earlier serving in Okara. Deputy Commissioner Syed Asif Hussain Shah along with Superintendent Sajid Ali Baig visited District Jail Vehari. On this occasion, he also inaugurated a 5-day screening camp organized by the Health Department at District Jail Vehari. Hepatitis BC, TB, AIDS, blood pressure and sugar will also be checked in the screening camp. Deputy Commissioner Syed Asif Hussain Shah and Sajid Baig reviewed the various stages of the district jail screening camp and said that the Punjab government is taking special measures at all levels to eliminate infectious diseases. The screening tests of the inmates and prison employees in the jail will provide the best medical facilities to the sick people. Through the screening camp, prisoners and prison employees will also be given awareness to prevent infectious diseases. The screening camp will prove useful in assessing the health and problems of prisoners and prison employees. Deputy Commissioner Syed Asif Hussain Shah also visited various barracks and heard the problems of the prisoners. He also checked the quality of food by visiting the kitchen. The Deputy Commissioner also visited the jail hospital. Deputy Commissioner Syed Asif Hussain Shah also directed CEO Health to provide all medical facilities and free medicines to the prisoners in the prison hospital. He said that special attention should be given to the education and training of prisoners. It should be our aim to make prisoners useful citizens of society. Superintendent Jail Mirza Sajid Baig said on this occasion that the prisoners are taken care of in accordance with the law. Prisoners are provided food as per the menu. Reforming prisoners is our goal. Later, Deputy Commissioner Vehari Syed Asif Hussain Shah visited Dar al-Aman and on this occasion he reviewed the residential facilities and management in Dar al-Aman.
