Shraddha Kapoor, an actress, claims that her most recent romantic comedy, “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” is a “refreshing” change from the typical girl-next-door roles she has played in her previous movies.
Whether it was “Aashiqui 2″ or “Ek Villain,” Shraddha’s film career has been greatly influenced by love stories. The Luv Ranjan-directed film gave her the chance to play someone who is “on the front foot and is confident,” whereas the majority of the films featured her in the role of a simple and coy woman.
“This character is completely different from anything I’ve ever played, including in ‘Aashiqui 2′ and subsequent movies. She is a girl who is more assertive, proactive, and self-assured. It was energizing for me to play a character who expresses her emotions. She is the neighbor girl with a little “tadka” (spice). For me, it was a first,” Shraddha said in an interview with PTI. The 36-year-old actor claimed that because her character in the movie, which came out on Wednesday, was unlike her real self, it excited her.
“When he told me about the film, the story was entertaining. My character was something I was excited to play because she is not something who I’m. It was a challenge for me as an actor,” she added.
The movie also features Ranbir Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia and stand-up artist Anubhav Singh Bassi.
Praising her co-star Ranbir, Shraddha said the actor inspired her to do better.
“He is a superb actor. The way he performs is brilliant and amazing. It made me want to do better and I felt inspired. He is a big superstar and there is a reason for it. He has consistently proven himself and his versatility as an actor. It was great to work with him,” she said.
