DOHA: Mansoor Ebrahim Al-Mahmoud, the CEO of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in order to discuss the status of various investment proposals in numerous economic sectors of Pakistan.
Al-Mahmoud and Prime Minister Sharif emphasized investment opportunities in Pakistan’s energy and infrastructure sectors during the meeting. It might be recalled that during the Prime Minister’s visit to Qatar in August 2022, a thorough discussion had been started between the two parties. The Pakistani government has received strong interest from the Qatar Investment Authority to invest in solar power parks, airports, and LNG power plants.
Al-Mahmoud expressed his desire to deepen Qatar and Pakistan’s bilateral economic ties while agreeing with the prime minister on the significance of their bilateral trade and investment. Prime Minister Sharif thanked Al-Mahmoud for his interest in enhancing economic ties with Pakistan and invited Qatari investors to benefit from the government of Pakistan’s investment-friendly policies. Both nations are optimistic about collaborating closely to put existing agreements into practice in order to strengthen and diversify their economic ties going forward in line with Qatar’s Vision 2030.
