World Civil Defense Day celebrated

Chiniot: A seminar and awareness walk was organized at Government Girls Degree College Chiniot on the occasion of World Civil Defense Day in collaboration with district administration and district civil defense department. Additional Deputy Commissioner General Talha Saeed led the walk.  Officer Muhammad Siddiq, Representative Deputy Director of Colleges, Principal Institute and other officers, volunteers, girl guides participated in the walk in large numbers. In the walk, the students carried banners and placards about the need, importance and usefulness of civil defense.  Slogans were recorded while the machinery and equipment used in emergency relief operations were also displayed under the cover of the CO complex. In the seminar held at the Government Degree College for Women, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Talha Saeed said that civil defense training is very important.  It is a great humanitarian service and the purpose of celebrating the International Day is the determination to keep the civil defense system strong. He said that civil defense is a system of Muslim status at the global level and the system has been innovated at Chiniot level over the years.  It has been made stronger and more active. The volunteers of the civil defense organization have carried a heavy burden of selfless humanitarian service at all times without caring for their lives. It is necessary that every individual should be aware of the principles and safety measures of civil defense.  He said that in today’s era of fast pace and development, the importance of civil defense has increased and the role of civil defense volunteers in the relief operations in case of disasters and accidents.  The role is very important to those who put their lives on the palm of their hands to save the people in distress.
