Multan: On the second day of international conference Dr. Saleem Abbas (South Korea), Dr. Ismat Shah (Newark) Dr.Yuhani lin (China) Dr. Sitwat Naqvi, Dr. Naeem Abbas, Dr. Rubaida, Dr. Awais Rauf, Dr. Fakhar ul Alam presented their papers at conference of global challenges in energy and environmental development under the auspices of the Department of Physics continued at Women University Multan. The speakers were of the view that global warming mainly affects our climate. Earth’s average temperature has now increased by about 0.18 ℃ per decade. The recent floods in Pakistan have affected more than 33 million people and damaged our agriculture, livestock, and infrastructure. It is expected that there will be more droughts and floods to come. So, we need to adapt and mitigate; along with this, we need to evolve our strategies to fight climate change. Air pollution is one of the biggest environmental challenges in the world today. To tackle the growing air pollution problem across the country, affective measures have to be taken the government has to participate in the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to reduce dependence on fossil fuels to meet the growing energy needs. The conference was attended by faculty members and students.
