FAISALABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Sunday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) “Jail Bharo” movement had completely failed and that even PTI leaders and workers were attempting to distance themselves from the initiative.

He claimed that the PTI’s politics were full of mistakes while speaking to the media at the home of local PML-N leader Kashif Nawaz Randhawa. He claimed that Imran Khan wasted people’s time by not making a single admirable decision during his political career. “Imran Khan claimed to organize a million-person march, followed by another gimmick, all of which proved fruitless,” he said, adding that Imran’s ultimate goal was to sow political and economic unrest in the nation.

During his nearly four years in power, he caused unnecessary problems, and he is still doing so now out of a lust for power. He claimed that Imran Khan’s plays had all been failures, and that voters would reject him in the upcoming general elections. In response to a question, he stated that the PTI leaders and employees had been detained for 30 days in various prisons after the government had reportedly requested the arrest of about 125 of them. In response to a different query, he stated: “We fully believe in the sanctity of state institutions but it is necessary to clarify the situation in light of the Pervaiz Elahi audio leak. Until the audio that was leaked has been discovered and released, we won’t assign blame.

About attack on Imran Khan, he said that investigation revealed that it was not an organized attack and the attacker was alone. To another question, he said that various surveys revealed that PML-N was leading political party of Punjab. About issuance of party tickets, he said that parliamentary board of the party would decide to award tickets to the candidates.
