Barkhan bomb blast claims four lives, injures 12

The police reported on Sunday that a motorcycle laden with explosives exploded in the Balochistan district of Barkhan, killing at least four people and injuring 12.

According to the police, the explosion happened in the Rakhni Bazaar neighborhood, and the injured have been taken to a nearby hospital. Police added that some injured people were also being taken to the hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan. The law enforcement organization also disclosed that the explosion had destroyed a number of motorcycles, cars, and stores. Following the incident, security forces completely suspended traffic in the area and cordoned it off. The police and other law enforcement organizations are gathering the evidence.

Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, the chief minister of Balochistan, and the inspector general of police (IG) were asked to provide a report on the incident by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Additionally, the premier ordered that the best medical facilities be provided for those injured in the explosion. The PM emphasized that “the terrorists will not be able to escape from the punishment.” The prime minister condemned the incident and expressed sorrow over the lives lost. He continued, “We will make an example out of those who shed innocent blood.PM Shehbaz prayed for those who died and for a quick recovery for those who were hurt.

CM Bizenjo denounced the incident in a separate statement and commanded the relevant authorities to offer the best medical care possible to the injured. Bizenjo expressed his profound sorrow over the loss of life and promised that anti-state elements would not be permitted to prevail. Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), also denounced the incident and said that the components of terrorism are intolerable. The federal and provincial governments, according to the former president, should prosecute all terrorists. In addition, Zardari expressed sympathy to the families of the deceased and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.
