Terrorists storm Mastung check post;Two Levies men martyred

In the Mastung district of Balochistan, near the Babri area, terrorists stormed a checkpoint operated by the force, killing at least two Levies men, an official said on Tuesday.

Additionally, according to the officials, after the attack, the terrorists took the weapons belonging to the martyred personnel with them. The area has been sealed off, according to assistant commissioner Mastung, and a search is being conducted for the attackers. Following the terrorist attack, locals in the area blocked the national highway between Quetta and Taftan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif denounced the Mastung attack after learning of the incident and prayed for the martyred personnel to attain high ranks in the afterlife. PM Shehbaz also expressed his condolences to the families of the Levies officials.The morale of the security forces is high in the war against terrorism, according to PM Shehbaz.

Chief Minister of Balochistan Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, meanwhile, denounced the assaults on the checkpoint. Bizenjo also expressed his sorrow at the two levies personnel’s martyrdom. He sent his sympathies to the families of the terrorist attack victims. In a statement, CM Bizenjo stressed that “the enemies want to deteriorate the peace of the province” and that terrorist attacks are a cause for concern. 

Bizenjo directed the law enforcement agencies to utilise all the available resources to bring the terrorists into the grip of the law.

He further added: “We need to be more alert to fail the plans of the enemies of the country.” Law enforcement agencies should not let any stone unturned in carrying out their responsibilities, he said.
