Govt taking tangible steps to strengthen economy, says PM Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: The government is prioritizing a decrease in unnecessary imports by increasing exports, according to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who said this on Monday that the government is taking concrete and important steps to strengthen the economy.

He claimed that despite the mismanagement problems from the previous administration, the current administration was still committed to making significant progress in the economy. According to a press release from the PM Office Media Wing, the prime minister was speaking with a delegation from Rothschild and Co., one of the biggest independent financial advisory firms in the world. Dr. Ayesha Ghous Pasha, Minister of State for Finance, and other pertinent officials were present at the meeting.

The prime minister told the delegation that Pakistan was experiencing a natural disaster in the form of recent floods that were brought on by the worst climate changes. The delegation members described Pakistan’s economy as stable and cited its talented workforce as its main competitive advantage. They noted that the current administration was making efforts to steer the economy in the right direction. They also praised Pakistan Stock Exchange as one of the region’s top-performing stock exchanges. They claimed that Pakistan had successfully raised awareness of the effects of climate change on a global scale.
