Hematology symposium organized at Nishtar Medical University

Multan: Department of Pathology and Department of Hematology Nishtar Medical University organized
a symposium on the important topic of Hematology at Hayat Zafar Auditorium Nishtar Medical
University. Vice Chancellor of Nishtar Medical University Professor Dr. Rana Altaf Ahmed was the chief
guest of the symposium while other participants included, doctors, senior faculty members of Nishtar
Medical University. The event was hosted by the chairperson of the Department of Pathology, Nishtar
Medical University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abbas Naqvi and the Incharge of the Department of
Hematology, Nishtar Medical University, Dr. Yasmin Batool. In the symposium, local and international
renowned speakers gave lectures on various topics related to hematology and blood diseases. The
speakers said that instead of being afraid of blood diseases, they can be avoided by changing our daily
routine. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Ejaz Masood, Incharge Cancer Center, Multan and Dr. Abdul Manan,
Consultant, North Wales Cancer Center and Director, Bangalore Hemophilia Center gave a detailed
lecture on the challenges faced in the treatment of blood cancer. Vice-Chancellor Nishtar Medical
University Professor Dr. Rana Altaf Ahmed said in his address that research has made it clear that the
majority of people are unaware of the initial symptoms of cancer if such people are diagnosed with
cancer in its early stages the chances of successful treatment are very high. Prof. Dr. Rana Altaf Ahmed
appreciated the efforts of all the speakers and organizers including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abbas Naqvi,
Dr. Yasmin Batool and Dr. Majid Rashid for organizing the symposium on this important topic.
