Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has urged Pakistan’s Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial to take notice of an alleged audio phone call that was leaked and purportedly made by the former Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi with the intention of defaming the judiciary.
In an interview with the media on Thursday night in Islamabad, he stated that the Federal Investigation Agency had been given the task of consulting with the Ministry of Law to determine whether or not a case could be filed against Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for ostensibly defaming the judiciary. If a forensic analysis shows Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s voice, he said, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi should be looked into. Imran Khan did not appear before the Lahore High Court, according to Rana Sanaullah, despite numerous orders from the court, he said today. He claimed that it appears Imran Khan and his allies are attempting to dictate courts, which is unfortunate and unacceptable in any society.
