ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar stated on Sunday that the government would be able to overcome the difficult economic situation by practicing austerity and making better use of its resources. Speaking to the media, he asserted that increased exports were essential for economic expansion. He said that discussions with the IMF were ongoing and that the necessary steps were being taken to resurrect the IMF program. When asked about elections, the minister responded that all political parties should come to an agreement because holding general elections in accordance with the Constitution is in the best interests of the nation.
