Pakistan unites to renew unshattering support to Kashmiris

ISLAMABAD,: The whole of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir witnessed on Saturday huge rallies, forming of human chains and holding functions and seminars to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day expressing unshattering support of Pakistani state and nation for the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their fight to attain the right to self-determination.

The day was marked to expose the worst human rights violations being perpetrated by the Indian Army against innocent Kashmiris in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

One-minute silence was observed across the country and human chains were formed at Kohala and other important points linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir at 10:00 am. In Mirpur, human chain at Mangla Bridge was also formed.

Solidarity walks have been organized in Islamabad, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and in four provincial headquarters. Kashmir Liberation Cell and Pasban-e-Hurriyat have arranged a Kashmir solidarity rally at Shaheed Burhan Muzaffarwani Chowk Muzaffarabad.

Rallies, public meetings, functions and seminars were held to draw attention of the world towards the plight of Kashmiris.

In Muzaffarabad, the special session of AJK Legislative Assembly was held to express solidarity with the oppressed people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir who are enduring Indian atrocities for the past seven decades.

In their separate messages on Kashmir Solidarity Day, President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have urged the international community to make India accountable for its heinous crimes in IIOJK.

President Alvi said that Kashmiris will succeed in their valiant struggle to secure freedom from oppression and illegal occupation.

He said Pakistan reiterates its call on the international community to take practical steps to hold India accountable for its gross and widespread human rights violations in IIOJK.

The President said Pakistan’s ultimate objective is a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per relevant UNSC resolutions in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

In his message Prime Minister Imran Khan said being an ‘Ambassador of Kashmir’ he has reassured Pakistan’s all possible support to Kashmiri people.

He said Pakistan commemorates the Day to reaffirm its unwavering support to the Kashmiris in their just struggle for their inalienable right to self-determination.

He said the pattern of ongoing atrocities in IIOJK reflected the anti-peace and anti-Muslim ‘Hindutva’ agenda of extremist RSS-BJP dispensation.

He reiterated India’s illegal and unilateral steps were rejected by Pakistan and the Kashmiris.

Imran Khan viewed that the durable peace, security and development in the region hinged on a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also in a series of tweets expressed his solidarity with the people of Kashmir. He said, “Pakistan stands united with our Kashmiri brothers & sisters and committed to their legitimate struggle for self-determination. Modi’s fascist policies of oppression & violence have failed to crush the spirit of the Kashmiri resistance in IIOJK.”

Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa while paying rich tribute to the valiant leadership and people of Occupied Kashmir declared that it was time to end the human tragedy and resolve the Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the UN resolutions.

In a tweet posted on twitter, the Army Chief paid rich tributes to the people of Kashmir for braving gravest human rights violations and lockdown under Indian occupation forces.

JUI-F supremo and PDM President Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that United Nations has failed to address the concerns of the Occupied Kashmiri people as per the UN resolutions.

Addressing supporters in Islamabad, Fazl alleged that the incumbent rulers of Pakistan has “handed over Kashmir” to the Indian occupation forces who are committing atrocities on the innocent Kashmiris.

Maulana Fazl vowed that current rulers will not remain in power as they have been ineffective.

In their messages on Kashmir Solidarity Day, Speaker Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri of National Assembly said resolving the Kashmir issue is imperative for sustainable peace in the region.

In his message, Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Khan Gandapur said indigenous and untiring Kashmiris struggle has proved that no level of repression can break their will. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain in his message said independence agenda will not come to completion until the Kashmir dispute is resolved according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

Punjab Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar said, “Without Kashmir Pakistan and without Pakistan Kashmir is not complete and Kashmiris are fighting their case in the world by becoming ambassadors. And by the will of Allah Almighty Kashmir will become Pakistan.”

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood said that the brave people of Kashmir have endured every kind of brutality through Indian state terrorism. “The entire Pakistani nation stands united with our Kashmiri sisters and brothers today & every day in their legitimate right to self-determination,” he said.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in his message on Kashmir Day said that supporting Kashmir was the mission of the PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and people of Kashmir will keep getting the unshuttering support by the Pakistan People’s Party.

National Assembly Opposition and PMLN President Shehbaz Sharif expressing solidarity with the people of the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir said that the dream of lasting peace and development in South Asia cannot be realized without a just solution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Shehbaz Sharif said that Indian actions should be held accountable for serious and systematic violations, violations of international law.

“Jammu and Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with Security Council resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiris,” he said in message.
