Woman, daughters among five dead in Peshawar roof collapse

PESHAWAR, : Five people including a woman and her daughters died and two others injured when roof of a house collapsed in Peshawar early Wednesday.

The incident occurred in Inqilab Colony near Tahkal on Arbab Road in the wee hours of Wednesday when the roof of the mudhouse came down with a bang burying seven people under rubble.

The Rescue 1122 personnel retrieved the inhabitants from the rubble and rushed them to Khyber Teaching Hospital where doctors declared five of them as dead.

Recent heavy rains have put at risk many structures at risk. Scored of people were killed and many more injured in the first heavy rain of the winter recently.
