COVID-19 out of control in Karachi as positivity rate tops 20%

KARACHI: In the midst of the fifth wave of epidemics, the situation of Kovid 19 in Karachi is getting out of control as the positive rate in the financial center of the country reached 20.22 percent on Wednesday morning.

According to the latest statistics, 6,048 tests were conducted in the city during the last 24 hours, of which 1,223 were positive. The report states that in 95% of the positive cases, Omekron is being confirmed.

Meanwhile, Lahore’s COVID-19 positivity rate has surged to 7%, Islamabad’s 4.5% and Rawalpindi’s 4%.
