A total of 28,000 agricultural tube wells in the province would be converted to solar system within three months, according to a deal struck by the Federal and Balochistan provincial governments, according to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday.
Speaking to the media following the agreement signing ceremony, the prime minister announced that for the Rs 55 billion solarization project, the federal government would fund 70% of the project while the province governments would contribute the remaining 30%.
The governor of Balochistan, Jafar Khan Mandokhel, the chief minister, and the federal ministers were present when the prime minister met with the provincial cabinet.
The prime minister had earlier attended a signing ceremony for an agreement between the federal and provincial governments.
