Pakistan has unequivocally rejected the US State Department’s 2023 Country Report on Human Rights.
The Foreign Office stated in a statement today that the report’s conclusions are unjust, based on false information, and wholly detached from actual events on the ground.
It claimed that the study exhibits blatant double standards, lacks objectivity, and politicises the global human rights agenda.
The foreign ministry voiced worry over the US State Department’s report, which focused on human rights issues globally while ignoring egregious breaches of human rights in Gaza and Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
It said that the US State Department’s yearly practice of compiling these unsolicited reports is still fundamentally problematic because it uses a domestic social prism to evaluate human rights in an unfairly politicised way.
