Pakistan saw over 115% increase in tourism: Minister

According to Minister of State for Tourism Wasi Shah, Pakistan saw 115% rise in foreign tourism in 2023, generating $1.3 billion in  foreign exchange earnings for the nation. In an exclusive interview with private news channel, the minister  stated that Pakistan saw remarkable 92% recovery to pre-pandemic levels in 2023 due to 115% increase in tourist arrivals  over the previous year, according to the World Tourism Barometer  published by the World Tourism Organisation of the United Nations. The minister expressed hope that increased tourist arrivals in 2024 will transform the nation into major player in the travel and  tourism industry.
