Pakistan urged Indian government on Wednesday to guarantee minorities’ safety, security, and protection—especially Muslims and their houses of worship. In a statement released on the thirty-first anniversary of the famous Babri Mosque’s demolition, the Foreign Office described the day as a sombre reminder of how a group of Hindu fanatics destroyed the centuries-old mosque in Ayodhya in plain front of Indian law enforcement. The FO statement read, “It is regrettable that India’s superior judiciary not only cleared the perpetrators of this hateful act but also approved the construction of a temple on the site of the demolished Mosque.”
