The Minister of Commerce and Industries of Pakistan, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, escorted a formal delegation of solicitors’ office representatives as well as secretaries from the Board of Investment (BOI) and Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia. A news release released here on Sunday stated that he met with the GCC’s Chief Negotiator to finalise the FTA’s investment-related provisions. The remaining aspects of the investment chapter, such as investment protection and facilitation, were the subject of lengthy deliberations between the technical teams of the two parties. The possible effects of the FTA on bilateral trade and investment flows were also explored. “This is a significant advancement in our endeavours to fortify economic connections between Pakistan and the GCC,” Ejaz declared.
