150,000 vacant posts of ministries abolished: Aurangzeb

In an effort to save costs and boost government efficiency, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb said Tuesday that he is confident the rightsizing of 43 ministries and the 400 departments they are connected to would be finished by the end of the current fiscal year.At a press conference, the minister shared the six-month performance of the Federal Government’s High-powered Committee on Rightsizing. “All 42 ministries, (since CAD has already been abolished) and their attached departments, their recommendations and implementation (will be done) will be completed before June 30 of this fiscal year,” he said.The minister was joined by Ambassador at Large Dr. Salman Ahmad and Bilal Azhar Kayani, Convener of the National Parliamentary Taskforce on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
